Bring us your 2nd hand things
Twice a month we have a big sale of 2nd hand clothing and things all in aid of Izandla Zethemba. So if you have any clothes - childrens, mens and women - or household goods that you are no longer using, please contact us as we can make a plan to get them from you.
Dignity not Dependency
I popped in on clothing sale last Friday, and saw a young mother from our church sorting through the clothes. I know she is very poor. As all the clothes are less than R20 she was able to afford a few items. She looked so
chuffed with herself as she showed me what she was going to buy. I was struck by the dignity of the moment - here she was choosing the piece of clothing, not just being given something that someone else thought she needed. She gets to pick the colour, shape, style - a joy we all have when we go shopping. And she enjoys that great sense of achievement when you have got a bargain. She will go home to her family saying See what I bought, which is very different to saying See what they gave me.
Dignity not dependency.
Please consider bringing us the clothes you no longer wear - contact us to make arrangement.
